It depends upon the heat loss calculation for your property - if this is over 24 kw then the 24i junior will not be big enough to cope with the demand from your system.

Would a 24i boiler be suitable for a 3 bed house with 8 radiators and good insulation?

I have been quoted for a 28i boiler but the 24i is cheaper.

There are many other factors to take into account before recommending a boiler to you and a visit to you property is required to properly answer your question. The size of your family, how you use your home and any planned extensions all play a part.

To ensure that you select the right boiler npower are able to send a Home Energy Consultant to your home to review the installation options. This visit is free with no-obligations on your part and will also enable an accurate quotation to be developed for a new boiler.

We are currently building a granny flat onto our existing 3 bed house for my elderly mother. We already have gas central heating and would like to link this to the extension. Can you recommend a boiler that would allow us to use the heating in the extension without having to heat the main house? Many thanks!

We assume that you mean "why this 24i junior would NOT be sufficient enough for the above request" - a Large 3-bed house

Combi boilers deliver hot water on demand to the household inhabitants and also drive the central heating hot water supply. The manufacturer tunes the boiler power output for best boiler efficiency against an assumed hot water demand. They then recommend a house 'size' to guide would be purchasers.

Within this guidance there are obviously variations. A small, house could have poor insulation, a radiator in every room and several people living in the house - it would have a large demand on a boiler. A large house could have excellent insulation, a single occupant and radiators only in two or three rooms, this would have a very small hot water demand. In these two illustrations the general manufacturers guidance is not valid.

To accurately determine the correct boiler for a home a heating survey is required to establish the real heating demand and calculate the homes heat loss statistics. For this reason, rather than giving a quotation based on a guess, npower send a Home Energy Consultant to review the installation options and help to select the right boiler for your home.

This visit is free with no-obligations on the customer and will also enable an accurate quotation to be developed for a new boiler.

Re-Phagura request May20th. Asked If a 24i junior is suitable for a large 3-bed house.

you replied in answering, The Manufacturer recommends that this is suitable for a small/medium sized 1 bath flat, apartment or house.

Can I ask in my ignorance of heating boilers, why this 24i junior would be sufficient enough for the above request.

Operative word being Large 3-bed house?

The maximum flow rate of the boiler at 35 degrees is 9.8 litres per minute. This depends upon your cold water mains pressure and whether you also have any other hot water taps drawing hot water at the same time.

How long should it take to fill an average bath using a Greenstar 24i junior? If you are filling a bath, do the radiators go off as well?

You could install the Greenstar 18ri or 24ri which are regular boilers ideal for central heating only supply. Their dimensions are as follows : Height - 600mm Depth : 270mm Width : 390mm

I want to fit my boiler into a kitchen cupboard unit that measures 720 high, 600 wide and 290 deep. Which would you recommend? (I live in a small 2 bed/1 bath flat and only require hot water for the radiators... the rest comes from a central point in the block of flats for free)..

I see this boiler is 330 deep... so I guess it is of no use to me? YOur advice is greatly appreciated.
