For clarity npower do not supply any boilers for third parties to install.

We are pleased to advise you that npower do supply and install Vaillant and Glow Worm boilers, the boilers shown within the site are only a small selection of the boilers generally available in the market.

npower boiler installations require the house to have a gas supply. If there is no supply to the property you need to contact National Grid Transco as they have responsibility for the pipes which connect homes to the national supply and can advise you how much the connection would cost.

There is no standard price for the installation of central heating as there are many types and sizes of boiler and the installation costs will be influenced by the physical layout of the property and where the boiler is to be installed.

To factor a price into you estimations we suggest you plan on £2 / 3 K and allow a margin of error.

Once you have purchased the property, or with the permission of the current owner, npower are able to send a Home Energy Consultant to the property to review the installation options and help to select the right boiler for your new home. This visit is free with no-obligations on your part and will also enable an accurate quotation to be developed for a new boiler.

We are thinking of buying a 3 bed bungalow which only has storage radiators. There is gas at the end of the drive and I would like a very approx cost of brining the gas in and the cost of installing central heating using a standard boiler. The cost of installation will reflect my offer. Thank you very much.

It is very difficult to answer this question online without knowing anything of the home in which the boiler will be installed. There are several types of boiler - regular, system and combi and also several power options to take into account before the right boiler is selected for you and your family.

To help you take all these factors into account, and understand the installation requirements npower are able to send a Home Energy Consultant to your home to review the installation options and help to select the right boiler for your home. This visit is free with no-obligations on your part and will also enable an accurate quotation to be developed for a new boiler.

To accurately establish what size and type of boiler you require a heat loss survey should be completed for your home. As a quick guide you would be roughly looking at a boiler with an 18kw output. There are details of regular boilers such as these in the site, for example the Ideal Icos 18HE and the Worcester Greenstar 18Ri.

npower are able to send a Home Energy Consultant to your home to review the installation options and help to select the right boiler for your home. They actually use many different manufacturers so the consultant will determine your new specific boiler on space, size and best flueing options.

There are several types of boiler available these days and each has pros and cons.

Combi boilers do not need a hot water storage cylinder in the airing cupboard and take the cold water mains supply ( at good water pressure), heat this and deliver hot water at pressure. The disadvantage is that they cannot cope with several hot water taps switched on at the same time.

System or regular boilers do have a hot water cylinder which they use to store hot water. They are able to service several hot water drawdowns simultaneously but need the cylinder space.

All boilers tend to be neat and are wall hung in the kitchen / utility room.

When you have time you will be able to read all this detail within the site. The size of the house and your hot water needs will influence the boiler type you need.

As an additional service npower are able to send a Home Energy Consultant to your home to review the boilers available, the installation options and help to select the right boiler for your house. This visit is free with no-obligations on your part and will also enable an accurate quotation to be developed for a new boiler.

Hi, I'm completely naive about boilers and the such like but I have just purchased a house with my friend and it currently has no central heating instaled. I was just wondering if we did need to have a new boiler installed would it be particularly space consuming? (My knowlegde of boilers extends to the rather large thing in my parents airing cupboard!)

Sorry if this isn't enough information, we havn't had the opportunity to look into this prperly yet!
